Bill heres what I would do if I redid my Tau.

1750pts (current tourney standard)

Ethereal
Shas'el - Cyclic Ion Blaster, Plasme Rifle, Targeting Array, Multi Tracker
-2 Shas'vre - Plasma/Missile/Multi Tracker

3 Crisis Suits - Plasma/Missile/Mult Tracker
6 Stealth Suits - 1 Fusion Blaster
6 Stealth Suits - 1 Fusion Blaster

12 Fire Warriors
12 Fire Warriors
12 Fire Warriors
10 Kroot

Hammerhead - Railgun/SMS/Target Lock/Multi Tracker/Decoy Launchers
Hammerhead - Railgun/SMS/Target Lock/Multi Tracker/Decoy Launchers
1 Broadside - Advanced Stabilisation/Team Leader, 2 Shield Drones

For 2000pts:

Buy a Shas'ui for the Fire Warriors and give him a Markerlight. Add another Broadside with Advanced Stabilisation. Upgrade Kroot to 12 and buy a second unit of 12. Sprinkle some wargear around.

OT I saw that Scott Simpson got 5 massacres with his Tau to come in 2nd in the 40k tourney. I don't see how tau can consistently massacre people. Does anyone know his list? Maybe Ludwig does because he was up at the top tables all tourney long.

What in the blue hell do you expect to beat with that list?

Sorry Bill I gave you bad advice. This list only went to 2ND PLACE OVERALL at the Boston GT. In the hands of my old pal Jeff he went 5-0 with top painting.

But the king has spoken, that was 4 years ago, and 40k is a much different game I suppose.

On second though just do what the king says, my 40k record is terrible.

i'll take that for my basis, once i learn how to play the game i'll obviously tailor the army to fit my playing style.

Yeah, Mike Boston was a great GT until the warmongers started cheating at Munchkin! Bastards! That was my first GT in which I got a top 3 finish...of course I was using Matt's Rats...does that even count?????

I would say that it counts because last round you and Nidal had to fight the two elfy shooting armies of doom that year.

LOL and the best was making Matt order Troy on demand and then both of us falling asleep 5 mins in and him having to watch the whole movie alone LOL.

That Munchkin game was insane!! There was like 20 people playing!
