My High Elves

My High Elves

Postby MantisZero on Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:41 pm

Yeah, so i have been building/painting my High Elves for a week or 2 now, and the models are coming out good.

I really enojoy painting and building them, the conversion options are awesome with the new box sets, but i always "run out of steam" so to speak when it comes down to finishing armies (yeah, most of you know that).

So i figure, if i post some pics, and keep updating them, it will keep me painting. So, here you go, my first 2 full units built and converted.

Here are my Ellyrion Reavers. They consist of glade rider horses, wild rider horse heads, glade rider legs, white lion chariot bodies, spearmen heads, glade rider arms, and HE chariot bows.

Joe, I've seriously played this game a dozen times already with Geo. You can't outshoot me, I've got too much magic defense for you to hurt me there, and you have no answer in hth for steamtanks or a well placed war altar.

Feel free to slam Ed's comp when you play. He'll appreciate it.

The coversions look great. Can't wait to see them painted. That said, I'm wondering why you used a black basecoat? I'd think you'd want a bright color scheme, which is a lot more work to pull off with a black basecoat.

Vallejo paints. One or 2 coats of any color goes right over black and it looks great!

I dunno Bill, when i do actually paint i dont seem to have an issue getting a nice bright basecoat out of 2 layers... but i use a brush, not my fingers to paint so i see where you may have some issues.

I haven't used Vallejo paints in some time, they used to be very inconsistent like bad batches and stuff years ago, but the paint always covered very well.

I hear the foundation paints work well too, but I have yet to use them
