Siren Song

You get the drift.

Siren Song

Postby Bretonnian69 on Mon Oct 27, 2008 10:51 pm

so i was looking at siren song and wondering how this would play out...

Siren song reads " nominate one enemy within 20" of the Daemon - this unit must be able to charge according to the normal warhammer rules. The target unit must either declare a charge against the daemon or immediatly flee, exactly as if it had failed a panice test."

So if i cast it on a unit of skellies 10 inches away with a vampire in it that can charge 12 inches.

A) Does the Vamp have to charge out because he could have according to the normal warhammer rules?

B)Can i target the Vampire and does the above apply if i target the unit itself?

My take is this - can you target the character?

1. If you target the *unit* and make it charge it moves at the speed of the its slowest member, as per normal charging. So the vamp won't run out anymore then the bus driver runs out of the dump truck. But...

2. If you CAN target the character seperately then he certainly would charge out of the unit. The way it reads is unclear, "enemy" isn't specific enough to break the rules for targeting directly, but you could certainly read into the statement.

Of course this leads to all kinds of silly things, like what if the character flees instead of charging? What happens to the unit? If the unit wants to charge something else can it? Normally a character has to charge with his unit, does Siren Song override that or does it effectively fuck *two* units by forcing the Vampire to charge out, and preventing the unit from declaring somewhere else (Character can't leave the unit when it charges)?

still wondering if it can be done.... there's sooo many circumstances where this may come up.

i guess i started thinking about it when i found out there will be someone with 4 siren songs play at MAplewood . so i'm just hoping he can't call out my Jugger herald away from the dump truck... what's a dump truck without a driver? an abandoned vehicle... and we all know what happens to them... people pee in the and ya know, do other crazy stuff in them too...

Has anyone come up against this since the new Daemons came out?
