The purple looks good, as well as the green. What other colors are you going to use on them?

No idea...what do you think?

I tried to highlight the gray, and it changed the entire model...

I'd add in some earthy colors, browns for the belts, for the plates on the armor I'd go gold and keep the embossed chaos arrows purple. Purple and Green go rather well with gold, in my experience.

I will post up some pics of my Marauder horsemen tonight.

gold huh...

So all the armor make gold?

After looking at the pictures the model looks like ass compared to in person, but no i am 2nd guessing the whole project.

I can't come up with a scheme that I really like...

Aaron, I told ya before! Simple, brother, simple. It's Chaos. There simply is too much detail to bugger over if you go with extreme colors.

If you're doing tzeentch, I'd go with a pastel base; maybe a soft blue or jade. Then for the metals go for gold or bronze.

Um.. it DOES look like ass in the pic. Maybe cause it's 8 times normal size, or something.   I don't know. From the pic, looks terrible, but I'm sure it's not in real life.

Need help picking a color

Postby Punk on Mon Feb 09, 2009 9:22 pm

since this model I have attempted the following color schemes.

~Red gore w/Bronze trim

~Hawk Turquoise w/Orange Trim

~Camo Green w/ Rotting Flesh Trim

~Chain mail w/brass trim and inked with an armor wash

~Liche Purple w/ golden trim

~Enchated Blue w/ Bubonic Brown NMM gold trim

~Chain mail w yellow rust armor wash

The front 6 rank and file models of my chosen unit look like a poorly designed Pollock painting...

If anyone has a color scheme that will look good on chaos...let me know...

My old chaos armor looked good and was really simple. This was 5th edition models so they are just as busy as the new shit.

Armor: Bronze, flesh wash, bronze. Highlight with some gold mixtures.
Trim: Silver metallic. Darkish with sharp mithril highlights.
Weapons: Bright green!
Frilly bits: red

It looked really good back in the day. So good in fact that I almost painted my new chaos army the same way.
