So emperor's children for 5th edition

So emperor's children for 5th edition

2X sorcerer with lash, steed, personal icon, meltabombs - [i]These guys just walk with the noise marines, with the ability to charge out 19"+ if they need to.

6X5 noise marines, 3 sonic blasters, blastmaster

3 defilers, with 2 extra CCW each

And I have points left over for either:

1. 2X5 lesser daemons
2. 2-3 rhinos (depending on how I equip them)

My concerns are that I'm light on AV 14 bustin', and and that hordes might be a problem (though I'm suspecting not with all that shooty goodness). I could lose one of the defilers for a triple lascannon pred, but anyone with AV 14 will direct any and all shooting into that first of course, so it seems like a bad idea. And I don't want to lose the 5 S10 hth attacks.

Dunno if they got rid of the option, I'm still about a year behind on 40K, but I regularly ignored the blastmaster in favor of lascannons. Give 3 units lascannon and tank hunter (if they still have it), and 3 unit blast masters.
One more club full of lovable douchebags? Yes please.

Old book.

They can't have lascannons anymore.

And you have to take squads of 10 regular CSM to take one now. So this is the only way to get cheap heavy weapons in small squads.

But it's now a S8 ap3 blast, so it's kind of cool.

I read it and I think it just makes the game far worse than what it is.

I thought 4th Ed was bad...but this one really is bad.

It's got up and down sides. I like some of the gimps, but I'm not that keen on objective based missions coupled with only troops scoring. I think it'll mean even less variation in army lists, since everything will need to have alot of effective troops to be at all viable.

It's an 80 page document, there are a zillion.

models screen both ways
power fists don't get +1 for a second weapon
vehicles get cover saves
Defensive weapons on vehicles dropped to S4 (falcon\pred gimp)
only troops score (forcing you to bring 6 troops to compete)
most missions objective based, so VPs only matter as a tie breaker
no more kill zone, so if you attack 30 orks, and kill 10, the ones outside 2" get pulled first and you get hit back with 20 (if they're all within 2").
a completely new vehicle damage table that makes it impossible to blow a vehicle up with a glance
everyone can run (fleet outside of 12")

Close combat seems very, very dumbed down. Now there is zero reason not to pick your units based on simple hit/wound/save math.

But these are only from a pre-production leak, so who knows.

I dont know, it just seems that they are making 40k based even more on math, not tactics.

It was bad in 4th... guess i should sell my rulebook on ebay before the new edition comes out!

This all sounds like garbage.... complete poo.

I do like that they have screeners in now.... that actually makes sense.

As for the other changes? what the hell?
